The story of Dhyanu Bhagat of Jwalamukhi Maa.

Dhyanu Bhagat

The days when India was ruled by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This is the incident of those days, a servant (Dhyanu Bhagat) resident of Nadon village was going to see the mother along with 1000 passengers. Seeing such a large party, the soldiers of the emperor stopped them at Chandni Chowk, Delhi and took them to Akbar’s court and presented Dhyanu Bhagat. The king asked where are you going with so many men, Dhyanu replied with folded hands, I am going to see Jwala Mai. Those who are with me are also devotees of the mother, they are going on a journey.

Akbar heard this and said who is Jwala Mai and what will happen if she goes here. Dhyanu Bhagat replied Maharaj Jwala Mai is the mother who created and maintains the world. She accepts the sincere prayers of the devotees, she fulfills all their wishes. His majesty is such that the flame keeps burning in his place without an oil lamp. We go to see him every year. Akbar Badshah said how can we believe that your Jwala Mai is so powerful. After all, you are a devotee of the mother, if you show us any charisma, then we will also agree, Dhyanu replied humbly. Sir, I am an insignificant service to the mother. How can I show any miracle? Akbar said that if your worship is true, then Mother Goddess will definitely respect you, if she does not take care of devotees like you, then what is the use of your worship, either that goddess is not worthy of faith or your devotion to worship is false.

For the sake of the test, we cut off the neck of your horse. You ask your goddess to get her alive again. In this way, the neck of the horse was cut, Dhyanu Bhagat, seeing no remedy, requested the emperor to preserve the head of the horse for a period of 1 month, that Akbar accepted Dhyanu Bhagat’s permission to travel, and departed from the emperor. Dhyanu Bhagat, along with his companions, went to the mother’s court, after bathing, worshiped etc., did awakening throughout the night, with folded hands at the time of the aarti, Dhyanu prayed, O Mateshwari, you are Antaryami. The emperor is testing my devotion. Keep my honor alive by your grace and power, show my miracle, thank your servant, if you do not accept my prayer, I will also cut off my head and lay it at your feet. Because it is better to die than to live in shame. This is my promise. you answer

At that very moment Jwala Mai appeared and Dhyanu Bhagat’s head was attached to the torso. Leave the worry, reach Delhi, the reason for being ashamed has been resolved and ask for whatever you want, Dhyanu Bhagat has requested by bowing his head at the feet of the mother. Jagdamba you are almighty, we humans are ignorant. I do not even know the method of devotion, yet I request that you, Mother Jagat, do not test your devotees so hard. Not every worldly devotee can offer you a head. Please, Mateshwari fulfill the wishes of your devotees with a simple offering. “So good! From now on I will fulfill my wish by offering only coconut in place of head with sincere prayer.” Saying this the mother became infatuated.
While this incident happened in Delhi, when the heads of the dead horse were automatically joined by the grace of the mother, then the emperor Akbar along with all the courtiers was drowned in surprise. The emperor sent some soldiers to the Jwala Mandir, the soldiers came back and informed Akbar that there were flames of light coming out of the ground. Perhaps this charisma has happened because of his power. Shut them down if you order. In this way the place of crime of Hindus will end. Akbar gave his approval. “But some historians are of the opinion that the royal soldiers did this without the approval of Akbar” It is said that the royal soldiers first got thick iron pans placed over the holy light of the mother, but the divine light came out after breaking the pan. After this the flow of a canal was diverted in that direction so that the water of the canal continuously falls on the flame, yet the burning of the flame did not stop. The royal soldiers informed Akbar. The burning of the joto could not be stopped, all our efforts failed. Do whatever you deserve.
On receiving this news, Emperor Akbar consulted the scholars of the court. After thinking, he said that you yourself should go and see the miracle of Goddess and please the Mother Goddess by offering gifts etc. according to the rules. It is a rule for the emperor to go to the court that he should go barefoot to the mother’s court by carrying a half-hearted golden umbrella on his shoulder. After that, by offering praise etc., ask for forgiveness from the mother. The newspaper accepted the advice of the Brahmins and a half-hearted golden umbrella was ready. Then the student reached the Emperor Jawala ji temple barefoot by placing it on his shoulder, there the head bowed with reverence after seeing the divine light. He started feeling remorse and took the initiative to keep the golden umbrella off his shoulder, but the umbrella fell and broke, it is said that it was no longer of gold and became of some strange metal. Which was neither iron nor brass, nor copper nor glass. That is, the goddess refused the offering.
Seeing this miracle, Akbar, praising the mother in many ways, begged for Sama and after returning to Delhi after worshiping the mother in many ways etc., ordered his soldiers to talk lovingly to all the devotees. The broken chhatra offered by the emperor Akbar can be seen even today read in the court of Mata.
